Music Choices

You know, I get asked all the time, “How do the Dallas Cowboys choose the music for the cheerleaders’ performances. My response is, “The crowd helps us choose.”

Stadium music is unique in that it needs to ENERGIZE and ENTERTAIN the crowd and MOVTIVATE the players. And so like Jack FM, we try to sprinkle in a good mix of musical genres for our gameday presentation.

For the past two seasons, the DCC have opened games with the most classic rock anthem of all time, “Thunderstruck.” It just doesn’t get any better than AC/DC for stadium energy and crowd-pump music.

The DCC also have four feature performances during the quarter breaks, and again, we try to include songs from the pop, hip-hop, country and classic rock genres, with the common denominator being music that has powerful rhythm, energy and tempo, with a melody that reads well in a stadium.

This week’s lineup includes:

“Automatic” by Aubrey O’ Day,

“I’m Sexy and I Know It” by LMFAO

“Good Feeling” by Flo Rida

“Favorite DJ” by Clinton Sparks

If you want to meet a DCC in person, or get an autograph in time for Christmas, the DCC will be appearing this Saturday at Best Buys all over D/FW from noon to 2 p.m. or so. Check for details and store locations.

Hope to see everybody at the game, this Sunday at Cowboys Stadium for a noon kickoff against the Buffalo Bills!
