Getting to Know Mackenzie

Were you named after anyone?
My name was actually a joke. My uncle’s name is Macky, so one day my mom laughingly said, “Why don’t we name her Mackenzie and we can call her Macky after you?” Well, somehow that caught on and here I am. They decided to go with the nickname of Kenzie instead, though.

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like all flavors of ice cream, but my favorite would have to be mint chocolate chip.

What shoes from your collection do you wear the most?
Nude wedges! They make my legs look longer and they go with everything!

What is your favorite fast-food chain?
love Chick-fil-A. Especially for breakfast.

Saying goodbye to my parents when they went back to Florida after the Redskins game.

Diet Coke!

Have you ever been addicted to any video game, computer game, or phone game?
I still haven’t gotten over my text messaging addiction. Maybe someday I will stop texting long enough to play a game!

Not right now. I love bulldogs so much and want one badly, but between work and practice, I know that I wouldn’t have enough time to treat the little guy well.

What kind of sandwich did you take to school as a child?
Peanut butter. No jelly.

Who is your all-time favorite band?
This is a really hard question. If I think about it in terms of an artist that I’ve liked for the longest amount of time, I would have to say Brittney Spears. I was obsessed with her in the fifth grade and I still love her music.

Have you ever been out of the country? If so, where?
I studied abroad in Florence, Italy. During that summer, I got to travel all over Europe. My very favorite place I visited was Capri. It was certainly the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. I love it there and can’t wait to go back.

I would much rather watch an action movie. I hate being scared!

Comedy. Unless romantic comedy is an option.

Do you have any bad habits?
I always forget to call people back.

Are you clean or messy?
I keep my apartment very clean, but somehow my car always looks like a tornado went through it.

What was your high school’s mascot?
My high school mascot was the falcon. At football and basketball games we always cheered “Fire it up Falcons!”

What was your childhood dream job?
Besides Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader? I wanted to be a hotel critic and host a television show about it. The Travel Channel was always my favorite. I used to sit and watch “Great Hotels” marathons for hours.

Are you a morning or night person?
I am definitely a night person. I hate waking up early (even though I do it) and I usually get my second wind around 9:30 p.m.

Saved by the Bell was my favorite show growing up. I loved all the characters and I wanted to be in high school so badly. I still love Zack Morris!

I love DCC!!!!!! Ive always wanted to be one and when im older i will be. I watch this show and these DCC preformances literally all the time!! But sadly when I try out Mackenzie wont be there. I love Mackenzie, we have alot in common and ive always looked up to her not only as a person but as a DCC/dancer. She is 5’2 like I am and thats kinda short so I know theres someone who I can look up to and have that as a motivation, if she could do it so can I. I love all the DCC girls and this orginization I cant wait until the day I can try out!!!!!!

I have to say that when i was watching the 2011 tryouts when you had audition, I was like, they have to pick her. She’s cute and a perfect match for that squad. Great Job by the way. When they thought about cutting you at the second to last training camp episode, I was like they better not cut her, that would be cruel. I’m glad you made it and I’m glad that you went after your dreams. I just wish i had the confidence to do that. Maybe someday I’ll get that courage. Keep up the goodwork
