Two of the most iconic sports entities were merged this year for the first time as the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders attended the Kentucky Derby. Veterans Lauren, Mia, Jackie and Olivia were the first DCCs to travel to Churchill Downs for the Run for the Roses as they made an appearance on behalf of Quint Events.
“Going to the Kentucky Derby has always been a bucket list item for me,” said Mia. “You have the history, the fashion and the fact that we were able to wear our DCC uniforms early in the day and change into our Derby hats for the race, it was like the best of both worlds.”
The ladies arrived on Friday afternoon and checked into the legendary Galt House Hotel, which has such recognition as the place to see all of the celebrities in Louisville for the big race that it has a designated area for media outside the entrance for photographers hoping to capture the scene.
That evening, the DCC made their first appearance of the weekend at the inaugural Fillies & Lilies party, which featured a performance by Wynonna Judd. With the energy of a Super Bowl party, the exclusive event took place on the grounds of Churchill Downs inside the Derby Museum, and the DCC divided up to make sure that everyone in attendance had the opportunity for photos and autographs prior to the concert.
While the Kentucky Derby is known as ‘The Fastest Two Minutes in Sports,” the DCC spent the entire Saturday at Churchill Downs as there were multiple races throughout the day leading up to the big race. The ladies had an appearance at a trackside party deck/hospitality suite for guests who had purchased the ticket package through Quint Events. Once their appearance ended, the ladies changed into their best Derby outfits and returned in time for the big race.
“Quint Events took such great care of us and everything was first class,” said Lauren. “I have been fortunate enough to do some amazing appearances in my years with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, but from a glitzy standpoint, this is hands down my most glamorous appearance.”
