DCC Depart For USO Tour

While this is usually the time of year to spend with family, about a dozen Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have a different agenda for Christmas and New Year’s.

A group of cheerleaders departed for the Persian Gulf for their annual holiday USO tour. It’s the 75th USO tour for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, a tradition that began in 1979, spanning 49 countries. Members from the DCC typically make two trips overseas each year.

This year’s group of 12 of the show group marks the 16th time DCC has visited troops in the Central Command Area of Responsibility (Southwest Asia).

The dozen cheerleaders will perform five shows in three countries on base. The tour includes autograph signings, unit visits, traveling to remote outposts and the nightly dinners with the troops before returning to Dallas on Jan. 2.

In 33 years of the USO tour, which began on the Christmas of 1979 in Korea, more than 240 different cheerleaders have been included in the visits.

The DCC participating in the 75th USO tour are Whitney Isleib, Cassie Trammell, Sydney Durso, Mia Greenhouse, Meagan McVay, Jackie Bob, Melissa Kellerman, Holly Arielle, Lauren Williams, Brittney Schram, Olivia Rene and Jacie Veronica.

I just wanted to get on the site and say that I really appreciate the DCC to come over to the bases and give us, soldiers, a show. I just came back from watching and the show here in Kuwait was really good. Thanks for coming over here and doing it for us..really appreciate it.

    4. Rick Berry says:

I want to personally thank all the DCC for their recent visit to the Middle East (Persian Gulf). My son is currently stationed over there with the US Army, and this is the first year he has not been “at home” for the Holidays. Your visit really made is day! He posted a picture taken with the delightful Olivia Rene, and his caption was “Merry Christmas to me!” Thanks again for bringing some much-needed Christmas cheer to those serviing our country so that we may continue to enjoy the freedom they are protecting! God Bless You All!

    5. Theresa Quinton says:

As a mother of a soldier in Kuwait, I’d like to thank-you for your recent visit to his base. My son, PFC Joseph Wisenall, commented that all the cheerleaders were beautiful and that your visit will possibly be the best day that he’ll have there in his 9 month tour. It gives a mother’s heart happiness to know you’ve given our young men a “beautiful” day to remember.
