Game 2

A few days before each game, the squad receives The Gameday Sheet, which is more than just a checklist, itinerary or memo. It is a fun, colorful and scrapbook-worthy handout that lists important gameday information like our report time, rehearsal attire, what to pack, our scheduled dances, fun photos and more.

Throughout the season, I will be sharing our Gameday Sheets and a candid recap of the game with you, our web fans, as a way for you to get a behind-the-scenes look at how we prepare for gameday. With each sheet, you’ll get to see personal photos, our gameday playlist, how early we report to Cowboys Stadium and more!

Game 2

Each gameday, Kelli and Judy carefully evaluate and observe our performance and appearance from all angles. They walk the field, carefully watching each group. They stay tuned to the video board. They sit and watch from various suites. They even wear headsets that stream constant feedback from ownership and in-game entertainment personnel on our performances and general gameday presence.

Following each game, we receive written and verbal feedback in the areas of showmanship, body/physical appearance, uniform and boots, precision/accuracy (or inaccuracy), “needs improvement” and “good show” (aka good job on [insert whatever]).

Basically, no boot placed on the wrong yard line (or unpolished boot for that matter) goes unnoticed!

While it may seem daunting to know that we are always under constant observation, it is also reassuring to know that we have the tools (and people) necessary to continually improve and get better as a team.

Coming off of a memorable first game, we headed back to rehearsal to prepare for Game 2. Upon our return, Kelli and Judy were prepared with critiques, observations, uniform notes, game procedure updates and more. We listened carefully and went to work, focusing on fine tuning detail after detail after detail. We were even introduced to NEW choreography to be performed at Game 2: “Run the World (Girls)” by Beyoncé. It was a hard series of rehearsals, but we further bonded as a team as we pushed each other to improve while motivating each other along the way.

For Game 2 we did the following performances:

Plaza Performance by Group Two – “You Shook Me All Night Long” by AC/DC

Pregame – “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC

Quarter One – “Country Girl (Shake It For Me)” by Luke Bryan
Quarter Two – “Run the World (Girls)” by Beyoncé
Quarter Three – “You Shook Me All Night Long” by AC/DC
Quarter Four – “Drop It Low” by Kat Deluna

The Planet Tan, Palm Beach Tan Gameday Girl was me!

While unfortunately the ‘Boys lost this game against the San Diego Chargers, we were proud of our efforts and felt as though we won as a squad, as Kelli and Judy were pleased with our improvement and attention to the details we worked so diligently to perfect. It was a great way to head into a LONG (and extremely productive) month of waiting, waiting and more waiting until the regular season home opener, Monday Night Football and the division matchup with the Redskins on Sept. 26.
