One thing most people would be surprised to learn is... I’ve never broken a bone! (knock on wood)
Biggest Fear: Getting stuck in an elevator! If I have the choice I usually take the escalator or stairs.
What would be your superpower?: Hmmmm it’s a toss up between reading people’s minds or being able to move things with my mind like Matilda. ☺
Most Embarrassing Moment: Well I have quite a few embarrassing moments, but my most recent embarrassing moment took place at the DCC camp out. Everyone was up at the gun range where we were all sitting around watching as one person was learning to shoot the sniper rifle. I was minding my own business when suddenly out of nowhere a gargantuan, hairy, black wolf spider decided to land on the front of my black shirt. Panicking, I immediately jumped out of my chair and began trying to shake the malicious spider from my shirt, but the harder I shook the closer he crawled upward toward my face. Fear stricken, I couldn’t form words, so I was just yelling “AHHHHHH!!” but we were at the gun range… everyone was wearing earplugs. No one could see the black spider on my black shirt, nor could they hear my cries for help. They just saw what they described as me doing some sort of tribal dance in attempt to run away from myself. The only thing I could think to do was to take off my shirt and run for the hills, and that is exactly what I did. I thought Kelli was going to be mad at me for stripping in front of everyone, but to my relief she was laughing at me along with everyone else when I returned from my spastic escapade.
Dream Job: Well I love writing, food and traveling, so I think being a food critic would be a pretty tasty job.
Dream Vacation Destination: Fiji
Why did you decide to audition for the DCC?: I decided to audition for DCC because it has always been a dream of mine to become one of America’s sweethearts. I have also had the privilege of knowing several DCC Alumni and hearing them talk about amazing experiences only reinforced my already existing dream of putting on that blue and white uniform. Dance is my passion and I have been doing it my entire life. After dancing on the collegiate level it just seemed right to take the next step and dance professionally. DCC is a wonderful opportunity to be a part of an organization that is respected around the world.
What are some of your DCC highlights?: The night the team was officially announced was definitely a highlight for me. Having the opportunity to live out my dreams of dancing with friends who share the same passions and ambitions as me is something I will forever be grateful for. Also taking the field for the first time was such an incredible and unforgettable moment for me as a DCC.
Advice for someone who dreams of becoming a DCC: If you can dream it, you can achieve it. You just have to believe it.
