Why did you decide to audition for the DCC?: Growing up as a dancer, I always looked up to the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. During high school I dreamed of becoming a DCC, but was not old enough to audition out of high school. I decided to audition for the North Texas Dancers where my director, Jennifer Jones Cloutier, was a former Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. Our team had a very similar style to the DCC, and I was able to learn so much my three years dancing under her. After serving as Captain my third year, I knew I was ready to take a leap of faith and audition to be one of America’s Sweethearts!
What are some of your DCC highlights?: EVERYTHING! Being able to cheer for America’s Team is so rewarding on and off the field! We are blessed with once in a time opportunities that very few are able to experience. I was given the chance to travel on a USO tour last Christmas with our Show Group. It was my first trip out of the country, and I will never forget the people I met or the memories made with my teammates!
Advice for someone who dreams of becoming a DCC: Work hard, never give up and stay positive! Start taking dance classes now to expose yourself to new styles and teachers and learn something new from everyone you meet!
